The AAON Rooftop Families
RQ covers the small end, RN the broad middle, RZ the large capacities. Alpha Class and Delta Class designate efficiency and configuration tiers across those families, with variable-speed compressor and fan options in the higher tiers. Options that appear on Phoenix units include modulating gas heat, energy-recovery wheels, hot-gas reheat for dehumidification, 100 percent outside-air configurations and factory-mounted controls from several platforms. Service Considerations in the Desert
Variable-speed AAON equipment carries drives and inverter compressors that are sensitive to the heat inside the control compartment and to incoming power quality, and drive faults are a recurring service category alongside conventional refrigerant and fan issues.
