Industrial & Manufacturing HVAC in Phoenix, AZ

The building exists to make something. Everything the mechanical system does is in service of that, including staying out of the way.

Phoenix manufacturing spans semiconductor fabs and aerospace machine shops, plastics and packaging plants, food processors, metal fabricators, printing operations and the industrial parks of the west and southeast Valley. Their HVAC is as varied as their products: process chillers holding fluid temperatures for injection molding, cleanroom air handlers pressurizing fabs, make-up air replacing welding and paint-booth exhaust, separated-combustion heaters in dusty shops, evaporative cooling over a machine floor, and precision cooling in the control room. Bleuwave services industrial HVAC across the metro, scheduled around production.

Industrial service has a different clock from commercial service. A stopped line has a cost per hour; a service window is negotiated with a production manager; and a system that was installed for the plant's original process may be wrong for what the plant does now. The first step is understanding the process.

Industrial & Manufacturing

Process Cooling and Heating

Process chillers — Thermal Care, Arctic Chiller and others — hold fluid temperatures for machines, with tolerances and duty that comfort cooling never sees. Cooling towers and fluid coolers reject process heat. Boilers and steam systems serve process heat, sterilization and washdown. We service process equipment with attention to fluid quality, tolerances and the cost of a stopped line, and we coordinate windows with production.

Ventilation, Contaminated Air and Pressurization

Welding, painting, grinding, chemical processes and forklift traffic generate exhaust that make-up air must replace — direct-fired and indirect-fired make-up air units from Engineered Air, Cambridge, Greenheck and others, interlocked with exhaust and balanced for building pressure. Dust and fumes in the space call for separated-combustion heaters that draw combustion air from outdoors. Cleanrooms and labs need pressurization, filtration and custom air handlers serviced with the drawings open.

Plant Comfort and Control Rooms

Machine floors are cooled evaporatively and moved with HVLS fans; offices, control rooms, quality labs and server rooms get refrigerated cooling sized to their loads and, where equipment heat is concentrated, precision cooling. Heating is direct-fired, unit heaters or infrared for the short season. We service the whole plant as one system, with programs built around the production calendar.

Questions From Industrial & Manufacturing

Can you schedule service around our production schedule?

Yes. Industrial service windows are negotiated with production, and emergency response is measured against the cost of a stopped line.

Do you service process chillers?

Yes — portable and central process chillers, pump-tank stations, towers and the fluid systems they serve, with attention to process tolerances.

Our shop's unit heaters keep failing. Why?

Often because dust or fumes in the space are fouling standard burners. Separated-combustion heaters that draw combustion air from outdoors solve it, and we advise on the conversion.
