Huntair FANWALL & Air Handler Service in Phoenix, AZ

The company that put a wall of fans where one fan used to be, and the cleanroom air handlers that came with it.

Huntair, based in Oregon and part of the Nortek Air Solutions group, is the originator of FANWALL technology — the fan-array approach that replaced single large plenum fans with arrays of smaller direct-drive fans and changed how custom air handlers are built. The company builds custom air handlers for hospitals, cleanrooms, laboratories and data facilities, and supplies FANWALL retrofit systems for existing units. Phoenix's semiconductor, healthcare and data center buildings have a share of both. Bleuwave services Huntair equipment as an independent contractor, without factory affiliation.

Huntair units are engineered to a specification, and cleanroom and laboratory installations carry filtration, pressurization and redundancy requirements that make service a careful discipline. We work from the submittal and the building's requirements, and we treat the air handler as part of a system that includes the spaces it pressurizes.

FANWALL and Custom Air Handlers

FANWALL arrays spread airflow across multiple fans with individual motors and, commonly, individual or grouped drives, providing redundancy, efficiency and reduced sound and vibration. Huntair custom units incorporate FANWALL as standard, with double-wall casings and the coil, filter, damper and energy-recovery sections a project requires. Cleanroom and laboratory configurations add HEPA filtration, precise pressurization control and, in semiconductor applications, chemical filtration and make-up-air systems built for very high outside-air fractions.

Service Considerations in Phoenix

The outside-air load on a Phoenix cleanroom make-up air handler is extreme, and cooling-coil condition determines whether the space holds its temperature and humidity specification in August. Dust loads pre-filters quickly and, if it reaches final filters, shortens their life expensively. Individual FANWALL fans and motors fail and reduce capacity quietly; array health is checked fan by fan. Damper actuators and pressurization sensors drift. Casing seals and damper linkages on outdoor units degrade under UV.

Rebuild, Retrofit and Controls

We measure airflow, static pressure, coil performance, filter loading and fan-array health against design, then scope coil replacement, fan and motor replacement, FANWALL retrofits into other units, damper and actuator work, filter-bank service and VFD replacement. Sequence review — supply-air reset, static-pressure control, pressurization logic — is coordinated with the building automation practice. Replacement is quoted only where the casing has failed or the building's requirements have moved beyond the unit.

Straight Answers

Questions About Huntair Equipment

Do you service Huntair air handlers in cleanroom and semiconductor facilities?

Yes, with the attention to filtration, pressurization and scheduling that those environments require. We coordinate service windows with facility operations.

Can FANWALL be retrofitted into an air handler from another manufacturer?

Yes, on most units with sound casings. Fan-array retrofits improve efficiency, redundancy and serviceability, and we design them around the existing unit.

Is Bleuwave affiliated with Huntair?

No. We service Huntair equipment as an independent contractor without factory affiliation or authorization.
