Custom Units and Fan Arrays
ClimateCraft's custom air handlers span indoor and outdoor configurations with double-wall casings, a full range of coil, filter, damper and energy-recovery sections, and fan arrays as a standard feature. The fan-array approach spreads airflow across several small fans, each with its own motor and often its own drive; if one fails, the others carry on at reduced capacity while the failed fan is replaced. For a Phoenix hospital that cannot lose an air handler in July, that redundancy is the point.
Service in the Valley
Outside-air load, dust and long cooling seasons drive the wear: fouled cooling coils, rapidly loading filters, seized outside-air dampers and drifted sensors. Fan arrays are robust but not maintenance-free — individual motors, drives and fan wheels fail, and a unit running with two of eight fans down is losing capacity quietly. On older single-fan ClimateCraft units, or on other manufacturers' units, fan-array retrofits are among the highest-value air-handler projects available. Casing seals and damper linkages on outdoor units degrade under UV.
Rebuild, Retrofit and Controls
We assess airflow, static pressure, coil performance and fan-array health against design, then scope coil replacement, fan or motor replacement, array retrofits, damper and actuator work, filter upgrades, VFD replacement and controls integration. Sequence review is included, and we coordinate with the building automation practice. Replacement is quoted where the casing has failed or the building's requirements have moved beyond the unit.

Can you retrofit a fan array into our existing non-ClimateCraft air handler?
Yes. Fan-array retrofits are practical on most air handlers with sound casings, and they improve efficiency, redundancy and serviceability. We survey the unit and design the retrofit around it.
One fan in our array has failed. Is it urgent?
Not an emergency — the remaining fans carry the load at reduced capacity — but not something to ignore through a Phoenix summer. Capacity loss compounds with each failed fan, and the remaining fans work harder.
