Alerton, a Honeywell subsidiary based in Washington state, built one of the first native-BACnet building automation platforms — BACtalk — and its systems run a substantial share of Phoenix school districts, municipal and county buildings, healthcare facilities and offices installed through Alerton's dealer network over the past two decades. Compass is the current workstation; Envision for BACtalk still runs many older installations; VLC controllers and the newer Ascent family sit on the equipment. Alerton's native-BACnet architecture makes its systems integrable and serviceable. The Phoenix challenge is generational: Envision installations aging past support, older VLC controllers failing in hot plenums, and buildings between dealer relationships that need someone to read the logic and restore the sequences.

Service, Integration and Upgrades
Legacy Envision installations need migration to Compass; older VLC controllers, sensors and actuators fail in Phoenix heat; databases accumulate overrides; sequences drift; access is lost with staff turnover. We troubleshoot and repair Alerton systems at the controller, network and workstation levels; replace failed devices; reprogram VisualLogic sequences; migrate Envision to Compass; integrate Alerton controls with the mechanical equipment we service; and take over systems whose dealer relationships have lapsed, through the building automation practice.
